But notice the limit. The ring can tell you that your recovery is trending down. It cannot tell you why. Low iron, a vitamin D dip, an underactive thyroid and plain overtraining can all look identical on your wrist.
What a blood test shows
This is exactly the gap a blood test fills. It measures the things your wearable can only guess at: ferritin and iron, vitamin D, B12 and folate, thyroid function, inflammation markers, blood sugar. These are the levels that decide whether topping up a nutrient will actually do anything.
